petit tour = x et grand tour = y 

x + y = 1 400 
x + 3 y = 3 000

x = 1 400 - y
(1 400 - y) + 3 y = 3 000
1400 - y + 3 y = 3 000
1400 + 2 y = 3 000
2 y = 3 000 - 1 400
2 y = 1 600
y = 800

un grand tour mesure 800 m
x + 800 = 1400
x = 1400 - 800
x = 600

un petit tour = 600 m

les benjamins  ont fait  600 + 1600 = 2 200 m
