I am going to talk about Big Ben ,I have choose this because I find It is a very beautiful construction .
Big Ben is the nickname of a big bell situated on the tower of the clock of the Westminster palace who is located in London.
A lot of people give the name Big Ben for the complete tower herself but Big Ben is only the bell.
The tower was built between eighteen fifty eight (1858) and eighteen fifty nine(1859) on the board of the River Thames.
The tower is ninety six meters high and she has got four big bells who makes seven meters diameter.
All the hours of the day or of the night the bells ring.It is the more famous clock in the world.
Big Ben rang for the first time on July the eleventh eighteen fifty nine.
The first clock was built in eighteen fifty six ,she broke a few monyhs later.
The current Big Ben cracked in eighteen fifty nine only two months after her installation .
We have just turn the bell so that the hammer don't strick the crack .
The bell should be called "The Great Bell' .According to the legend ,the creator of this famous bell was called Benjamin Hall and was a little fat so the bell was called Big Ben.
The bell weighs thirteen and half tons and the hammer weighs two hundres kilos.
The sound of the chime has got his own name,the Westminster Quarters .He can extend six kilometers.
For avoid terrorist attacks ,the foreigners cannot enter in the tower .They are only the English who can climb the one hundred fifty five stairs.
